We would like to thank Chris Cooper, with QuoteCom, for all his advice on technical and financial matters. It is helpers like him that keep our operations moving forward.

MAILING LIST

After extensive research, a combination of methods was discovered to secure a majordomo mailing list. For the record, I can do the following to virtually every majordomo mailing list:
  1. get a list of its subscribers
  2. post to it, even if it is moderated.

I had this ability even before the recent security disaster, and it was my use of this ability which accidently further reduced the security of the mailing list.

If you are able to break into any of our mailing lists, please let us know. The moderated mailing list blind-l would be a good list to test things on since it is not being used at this time.

WEB SITE

The web service provider business has received adequate funding. This will be a key step in helping us
  1. promote Oceania from a web site that we can modify in any way that we wish
  2. provide additional income by allowing us to provide web space to other customers.
We have already received customer commitments from The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the Houston Space Society, and Terra Libra, plus other customers as well. Due to favorable agreements, we will be able to launch service within a few days even though our T-1 line won't be installed for about a month. Note that the final pricing was $100/setup $75/month for a Senior account, $50/setup $35/month for a Junior account. Price per extra disk space was set at 50 cents/meg/month.

One nice thing about the web provider service being greatly oversubscribed is that this is a good sign for raising money for the Sea Structures business plan. We had hoped on being able to announce the final draft in this issue but Jim Davidson's first attempt to post it to the seacell-l mailing list failed due to a mistake in the security measures applied to that list.

Our web site has picked up more publicity recently. Yet another CD ROM publisher, Knowledge Adventure, has contacted us about putting Oceania on a CD. And NetGuide just interviewed us thanks to our web site. Does anyone know the circulation of NetGuide?

Our web site continues to be improved. We would like to thank Zenon Kulpa for his unflagging efforts to add original artwork to the web site. Many interactive routines have been added to the web site. One project that is almost completed is to finally build a password protected secret area for the Oceania secret .sig society members. Our current web site provider has been given the necessary information to activate this feature.

NEEDED

Writers are needed to write ads for Usenet. Our advertising campaign on Usenet is going *extremely* well and therefore some effort should be made in enhancing it.

Business plan writers are needed for some Oceania related projects.

A free temporary telnet/SLIP account is needed in New York City.

ALT.CULTURE.VIRTUAL.OCEANIA

The negotations for a big seven group ended in failure. We will wait until our current newsgroup is successful before another push is made for a big seven group. Now that the web's construction is nearly complete, we are making a push to make this newsgroup successful.

Please note that it is very likely that the technical support job at our web provider service will be given to one of the newsgroup co-moderators. (This job will not exist until I am overwhelmed by the amount of customers that the web provider accumulates.)

TERRA LIBRA

It's been a long time since we've posted something for Terra Libra, so we are again posting something for this group. (The last posting was before Oceania Oracle even existed.) Note that Terra Libra is providing Oceania with free column space in their newsletter, money, plus recently became a customer for the most expensive account on our web service provider.
