WHITE PAPERS

I now have the contact information for Fred Foldvary, an economist at Virginia Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University), who has agreed to write a white paper on the money system of Oceania.

In addition, the following people have agreed to write white papers:

Note that these white papers are just the tip of the iceberg of how life will be in Oceania. Please contact us if you would like to write a white paper on Oceania. It's time that we filled in the details!

U.S. $250,000 LEGACY

I received the following at our Atlantis Project address:
Gani, Abdul & Co.

Solicitors and Advocates of the Supreme Court of Nigeria

The Director 9, Opeloyeru St.
The Atlantis Project Onipanu
4132 S. Rainbow Blvd. #388 Lagos
Las Vegas, NV 89103 Nigeria
U.S.A. Tel/Fax: 234-1-4970301
....

Dear Sir,

U.S. $250,000 LEGACY BY LATE MRS. MARY-ANNE OLUGBEGA

On behalf of Rev. Fr. Isaac Afolabi and myself; GANI MUHAMMED Esq.
as trustees and executors of the will and Estate of the late Mrs.
MARY-ANNE PAUL OLUGBEGA, I hereby wish to inform you that the above
named organization has been given the sum of U.S. $250,000 (TWO
HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND U.S. DOLLARS) in a codicil to her will to
your organization.

The late MRS. MARY-ANNE PAULA OLUGBEGA was American who got married
to a Nigerian in the early seventies, and they came back to this
Country, to settle, in 1979.

She died on the 9th of October 1993 at the age of 62 yrs and has
since been buried, May her soul Rest in peace, Amen.

Kindly acknowledge the acceptance of this legacy by your
organization. Also, send your Bank particulars and account number.
This will enable us to apply for Foreign exchange allocation at the
central Bank of Nigeria, Tinubu Square, Lagos, for onward remittance
of this fund to your organization.

Please reply to this letter and subsequent ones by fax only as most
mail to and from Nigeria does not usually get to its destination.
Also, include your fax number for easy communication.

Find attached to this letter, a copy of the codicil.

Please accept my congratulations.

                                                    Yours Sincerely,

                                                    GANI MUHAMMED ESQ.
This letter had some official stamps on it, it did come from Nigeria, and a copy of the codicil was included.

So, as you can see, The Atlantis Project is now well funded and no longer needs your tax deductible donations. Well, perhaps, this is one of the many fraud schemes in Nigeria, where I will be hit with endless processing fees yet the money promised will never materialize. Either way, it's nice that they cared enough to write.

PASSPORTS

To facilitate design of the passports, we are now having the art department fax copies of the passport design to Sean Kane who is then converting them to .jpg format and then distributing the .jpgs to the passport-l list for comment. Thanks Sean Kane for becoming an official Oceania fax man!

Also, does anyone have a name preference for our passport newsletter between the names Oceania Pioneer Journal, Oceania Pioneers Journal and Oceania Pioneer's Journal?

ALT.CULTURE.VIRTUAL.OCEANIA

I have received three reports from people who have seen this group, including one of our moderators, Lee Crocker. This is a good sign and I expect that most of our readers will have access to the group within a week. For the record, the first sighting was by Tane' Tachyon at UCSC.

Jason Kohles has been added to the moderator waiting list. Once the newsgroup takes off I will start expanding it beyond two moderators.

It has been decided that C. Titus Brown will be running the moderator script on his site, after all. As an added benefit, he is willing to send copies of all messages sent to the newsgroup to people without access to alt.culture.virtual.oceania. So, if you wish to start receiving the newsgroup even before it has reached your site, send e-mail to brown@krl.caltech.edu. If you do not have access to the group, you can post messages to it by sending them to oceania-moderator@reed.edu.

OCEANIA MALL

I would like to thank Jim Albea for the better scan of our flag which will now be placed in our mall.

New items in the mall are:

*Books*

*Publications* *Tapes*

Audio tapes of the 2nd Annual Conference on Anti-Aging Medicine are available per speaker or as an entire set.

*Prints*

Of the Oceania stills online are available in 8.5 x 11 format and 11 x 17 format.

*Videos*

OCEANIA ORACLE LOGO

I have been working on converting a .GIF of the Oceania flag into an ASCII logo for this electronic newsletter. So far Jim Albea has provided me with three different .GIFs in an attempt to find something that will work well with my .GIF to ASCII converter. No luck so far. Any ideas?

NEWS.ANSWERS

We have been approved to post Oceania FAQs to the second most popular Usenet newsgroup. At last count, it had nearly 400,000 readers! A FAQ will be posted monthly to this group.

NEW MUTUAL LINKS

The following links are mutual links that have been established but never confirmed before in the Oceania Oracle. They mention us, we mention them. More mutual links are being established every day.

KZSU's What's Hot And Cool On The Web lists us.

We're listed at Cybersight's page entitled "Kitsch". You can go there to vote on the popularity of our link.

OCEANIA SECRET .SIG SOCIETY

Richard Johnson and Jason Kohles have joined this society which adds the follow .sig to all their messages:

| Oceania: A New Country In Development ->  oceania@terminus.intermind.net |

OCEANIA E-MAIL ACCOUNT

Since I am only sure what state I will be living in for the next two weeks, I plan on simply upgrading this e-mail account instead of joining a new service at this time. I will need an account in Houston, Texas during Jan 9-16. If you have an account that I can share for that period, please let me know. The account must have SLIP access. Otherwise, I would like to know which of the following service providers is the best: The Black Box, CRL, Info-Highway, Internet Connect Services, NeoSoft, On-Ramp, Sesquinet, or South Coast.

HOW YOU CAN HELP - REVISITED

Here is an update on the list of things to do:
1) More people are needed to help maintain the Oceania web site. We still need at least one more person working on it before it will start to thrive.
Jason Kohles has joined the web team and is currently working on a long overdue web page. It looks like we have room for one more person on our web team.
2) I need a place to locate the American Academy of Anti-Aging web site. Note that for the first few months it will have very low traffic so I am looking for a temporary place to base it.
Robert Bradbury has provided a web site for this.
5) I need a person to write and conduct the interview in the Oceania Pioneer Journal of Richard Morris, the founder of Sea Structures Inc.
Jim Davidson has volunteered to conduct this interview.
8) Another topic for an article in the Oceania Pioneer Journal needs to be developed.
This additional topic will be a running installment on the History of Oceania. This topic was suggested by Bob Crawford.
11) I need people to write new ads for the promotions that I put on Usenet for this mailing list.
Jason Kohles and Ken Beal have taken on this task.
New items where help is needed:

16) Jim Albea could use help on improving his stills and animations of Oceania.
17) I still need a programmer for my unique spell checker venture.
18) Most importantly, I need more ventures to be involved with. So, if you have an idea but don't have the manpower to carry it out, please contact me!
